Information for professional tutors

The professional tutor is an indispensable element in carrying out external academic internships, since they are the person responsible for developing the student’s training program in the company.

Its functions are regulated by Royal Decree 592/2014, of July 11, which regulates the external academic practices of university students, in this section.

The internship documents (annexes) contain the description of the agreed training project for the student to complete, as well as the contact details of the student and the academic tutor with whom they can contact to resolve any questions that may arise regarding the learning process.

Rights

  • a) To the recognition of their collaborative activity, by the university, under the terms provided for in the educational cooperation agreement.
  • b) To be informed about the regulations governing external internships, as well as the Training Project and the conditions of its development.
  • c) To have access to the university to obtain the information and support necessary for the fulfillment of the purposes of their function.
  • d) Obtain a UMHTUTOR card upon request, which grants access to the benefits established by the UMH regulations.

  • a) Welcome the student and organize the activity to be developed in accordance with the provisions of the Training Project.
  • b) Supervise their activities, guide and control the development of the practice with a relationship based on mutual respect and commitment to learning.
  • c) Inform the student about the organization and operation of the entity and the regulations of interest, especially those relating to safety and occupational risks.
  • d) Coordinate with the university academic tutor the development of the activities established in the educational cooperation agreement, including any modifications to the training plan that may be necessary for the normal development of the practice, as well as the communication and resolution of possible incidents that may arise in the development of the practice and the control of permissions for taking exams.
  • e) Issue the final report, which will be sent to you through the appropriate channel depending on whether it is a curricular or extracurricular practice.
  • f) Provide the supplementary training that the student needs to carry out the internship.
  • g) Provide the student with the necessary material resources for the development of the practice.
  • h) Facilitate and encourage the contribution of proposals for innovation, improvement and entrepreneurship by the student.
  • i) To facilitate the university’s academic tutor’s access to the entity for the fulfillment of the purposes of his function.
  • j) Maintain confidentiality regarding any information he or she learns about the student as a result of his or her activity as a tutor.
  • k) To provide help and assistance to the student, during their stay at the entity, for the resolution of those professional issues that they may need in the performance of the activities they carry out therein.
