WHO CAN DO AN INTERNSHIP?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Any student enrolled in an official UMH degree program can participate in voluntary (also known as extracurricular) internships. Similarly, students enrolled in university-specific programs (specialist courses, micro-credentials, non-official master’s degrees, etc.) lasting at least 200 hours can also complete up to 900 hours of voluntary internships per academic year (between October 1st and September 30th). In both cases, you must <\/span><\/span>register with the Occupational Observatory and update your CV<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/strong> .<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

HOW CAN I DO AN INTERNSHIP?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

You have access to an <\/span><\/span>internship portal<\/span><\/span><\/a> where we publish all the opportunities offered by our partner companies. You can apply for one opportunity per day, and the company or organization will contact you to schedule an interview or provide more information. They will receive the resume you have previously submitted (incomplete resumes will reduce your chances of being contacted).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We also recommend that you actively search for companies and work on your unsolicited applications. To help you with this, we offer various\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>training programs<\/span><\/span><\/a> and advice to assist you in analyzing your career goals, contacting companies, and improving your internship and job search skills. You can consult the\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>list of companies and organizations collaborating<\/span><\/span><\/a> with the Occupational Observatory, where you can filter your searches by the company’s sector of activity or by the qualifications of students who have previously completed internships there.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

WHAT DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Once you plan to start an internship at a company or organization, you must <\/span><\/span>complete the internship documentation<\/span><\/span><\/a> ( <\/span><\/span>agreement and\/or addendum<\/span><\/span><\/strong> ). This documentation must be submitted to the Occupational Observatory at least <\/span><\/span>15 days before<\/span><\/span><\/strong> the start of the internship, duly signed by both you and the company\/organization. You can find all the <\/span><\/span>steps for generating the documentation and the necessary information<\/span><\/span><\/a> that the company must provide. You may also find it helpful to review the <\/span><\/span>sample internship agreement and addendum<\/span><\/span><\/a> .<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Paid internships have a series of tax and social security obligations that you can consult in the <\/span><\/span>Tax and Social Security Information section<\/span><\/span><\/a> . In any case, both paid and unpaid internships require registration with Social Security.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, students have <\/span><\/span>accident insurance,<\/span><\/span><\/strong> the cost of which (\u20ac30.05 per student per month) is covered by the company (public or non-profit entities are exempt). You can consult the <\/span><\/span>coverage details and procedures in case of an accident<\/span><\/span><\/a> .<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In some public administrations (city councils, provincial councils, regional ministries, secondary education centers…) there are specific <\/span>signature <\/span><\/span>procedures that you should take into account.<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

CAN I MODIFY ANY OF THE CONDITIONS?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

If, once the internship has started, you wish to modify any of its conditions (schedule, tutors, end date, etc.), you must <\/span><\/span>process the addendum document.<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

A few days before the end of the internship, both the student and the professional supervisor will receive an email to complete the final evaluation report. It is important that both parties complete this report; otherwise, the academic supervisor will not be able to evaluate the internship or issue the corresponding certificate.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS IN INTERNSHIPS<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Although internships are a training activity and therefore not considered employment, this does not mean that there are no rights and obligations. In this regard, we recommend that you review the <\/span><\/span>rights, obligations, and regulations governing internships<\/span><\/span><\/a> .<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

RECOGNITION FOR CREDITS<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Under the UMH <\/span><\/span>Regulations for the Recognition and Transfer of Credits for Official Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees<\/span><\/span><\/a> \u00a0, once you have your certificate of completion of the internship, you can request its recognition for credits of transversal and professional skills through the UMH <\/span><\/span>Electronic Office<\/span><\/span><\/a> , by submitting a general application to the corresponding CEGECA (Campus Management Center). The equivalency is 1 credit for every 25 hours of internship.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
