{"id":17975,"date":"2026-03-11T13:00:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T12:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/observatorio.umh.es\/?page_id=17975"},"modified":"2026-03-11T13:01:05","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T12:01:05","slug":"protocolo-de-actuacion-en-caso-de-accidente-durante-las-practicas-academicas","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/observatorio.umh.es\/en\/protocolo-de-actuacion-en-caso-de-accidente-durante-las-practicas-academicas\/","title":{"rendered":"Accident Protocol for Students on Internships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">If you are a student on an internship and have suffered an accident, it is essential that you know the steps to follow to guarantee your medical assistance and Social Security coverage.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-path-to-node=\"4\">\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,0\">[!IMPORTANT]<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"13\">Who does this protocol apply to?<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,0\">This procedure is <b data-path-to-node=\"4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"64\">exclusively<\/b> for students whose Social Security contributions are covered by the <b data-path-to-node=\"4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"144\">UMH<\/b>:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"4,1\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Curricular Internships<\/b> in external centers (unpaid).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,1,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,1,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Internal Internships<\/b> (both paid and unpaid).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,1,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,1,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Extracurricular Internships<\/b> (unpaid) in public administrations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr data-path-to-node=\"5\" \/>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"6\">1. Immediate Medical Assistance<\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">In case of an emergency, your health comes first. Go to the nearest hospital. You will be treated as a patient, but remember to inform them that the accident occurred during your internship activity.<\/p>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"8\">2. Mandatory Step: The Mutual Insurance (ASEPEYO)<\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\">Once you are discharged from the hospital (or if your condition allows you to travel), <b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"87\">it is mandatory<\/b> to visit an <b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"115\">ASEPEYO<\/b> medical center.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Why is this important?<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\">Only the medical staff at the Mutual Insurance company can perform the official assessment of a work-related accident and, if necessary, issue a <b data-path-to-node=\"10\" data-index-in-node=\"168\">medical leave certificate (baja m\u00e9dica)<\/b>.
